Swimming Baby Shark Craft: Step by Step Tutorial
Printing Tips:
Download and print the Shark Card templates from the Arty Crafty Kids members area.
Before hitting PRINT, select FIT TO PAGE.
The templates can be downloaded on to good quality paper or card stock.
If you opt for card stock, remember to check your printer settings for a recommended card weight. Most printers prefer card stock less than 220gsm.
Creating the Under the Sea Background:
Using a piece of blue card stock as a canvas, tear a lighter shade of blue paper into strips and glue the torn pieces to the top of the card.
Cut a wavy line into a sheet of yellow paper and stick the paper to the bottom part of the blue card.
Complete the under the sea background by colouring in and sticking the seaweed and shells from the baby shark template to the sandy area.
Make a 3D Mouth:
Fold the two circular mouth parts in half, with the blue on the outside of the fold and red on the inside.
Place the red toothy mouth part inside the folded blue part.
Secure the two parts with glue to create a 3D mouth.
Preparing the Shark Body:
Attach two fins to either side of the shark body.
Adding the “Swimming” Element:
Turn the shark body over and pierce a split pin into the centre of the white area at the top of the body.
With the body attached, pierce the split pin into the under the sea background.
Split the pin to secure.
Spin the body around to ensure it moves easily.
Add the Head:
Glue the mouth, eyes and final shark fin to the head of the shark.
Completing the Swimming Baby Shark Craft:
Add glue to the back of the upper half of the sharks head and secure above the body.
Make sure the head of the split pin is covered and the head allows the sharks body to move!
Arty Crafty Kids can now move baby sharks mouth for “Shark a Doo do Doo do Doo” sing-a-long and…
…swish the tail as if the baby shark is swimming or dancing!
