Let’s Make an Easter Card Craft!
Print the Easter card template onto white card stock .
Set the printer settings to ‘fit to page’ and make sure the printer is programmed to accept heavy paper.
Step 1: Color in the chick card elements with a favorite medium
This is a great opportunity for Arty Crafty Kids to explore and play with different mediums and practice blending techniques i.e how can kids use color to create the appearance of fluffy wings?
The cards can be colored in ordinary crayons or coloring pencils.
If your Arty Crafty Kids fancy trying something different; watercolor pen brushes are great fun to use. Soft pencil pastels will also color the design beautifully.
Step 2: Carefully cut out the template elements
Cutting is a great way for preschoolers and toddlers in particular to practice their fine motor skills, however the chick with its open wings and broken egg detailing might prove tricky for little hands!
Step 3: Fold the circular rocking card in half
To ensure the Easter card is aligned correctly, fold with the illustration facing on top and sitting at the bottom of the card.
Step 4: Glue the egg shell and chick to the Easter card base
For balance and to the encourage the rocking motion, the Easter chick should sit in the center of the card with its head and wings positioned above the fold.
Step 5: Open the card and write an Easter message!
There’s nothing better than receiving a hand written and personalized message from your little ones and our rocking Easter cards leave enough space for kids’ to get creative with their messages.
Here’s a few a few cheerful ideas to get them started:
- “A little chick told me you were getting egg-cited for Easter!”
- “Have an egg-tastic Easter!”
- “Have an ‘egg-stra’ Happy Easter!”
- “Sending a big Easter hug to one of the coolest chicks I know!”
- “You’re my favorite little chickadee. Happy Easter!”
