How to Make to the Pop up Santa Coloring Craft
Materials

Step 1: Color in the Santa coloring page.
Pick your favorite coloring medium and start adding some festive cheer to the Santa coloring page!
Step 2: Color in the fireplace coloring page.
This page is filled with elements that are often colored in similar tones, making it a perfect opportunity for Arty Crafty Kids to experiment with blending and shading techniques.
For example, try coloring the bricks using a mix of reds, browns, and oranges. Use lighter shades to create highlights and darker ones to add depth and dimension!
Step 3: Cut out the fireplace and Santa elements.
Using scissors, follow the outlines to cut out the fireplace and Santa pieces from the template.
Take your time to ensure neat edges, especially around smaller or more detailed areas.
For younger Arty Crafty Kids, adult supervision or assistance might be helpful during this step. Once everything is cut out, you’ll have all the pieces ready to assemble your festive pop-up scene!
Step 4: Curl Santa’s beard.
Cut along the dotted lines within Santa’s beard.
And then gently curl the ends of each strand to give Santa a curly beard.
Step 5: Affix Santa’s head to his body.
Using glue or tape, carefully affix Santa’s head to his body, aligning the pieces so they fit seamlessly.
Step 6: Create a supporting cube.
Fold along each of the bold lines on the strip support to form crisp edges, then secure the ends together to create a small cube.
Step 7: Affix the cube to Santa.
Apply a small amount of glue or tape to one side of the cube and firmly affix it to the back of Santa.
Ensure it’s securely in place, as this cube will act as the support to help Santa pop out from the scene. Let the glue dry before moving on to the next step.
Step 8: Fold the tabs back towards the fireplace.
Carefully fold the tabs backward, directing them toward the fireplace. These folded tabs will work together to create the pop-up effect.
Step 9: Apply a spread of glue one of the tab edges.
Then, carefully fold the tabs around to connect them.
This simple step will instantly elevate the fireplace, transforming it into a 3D backdrop for your scene.
Step 10: Affix Santa to the backdrop.
Spread a layer of glue along the bottom of Santa’s supporting cube, then carefully position him in front of the fireplace backdrop.
And just like that, your Pop-Up Santa Coloring Craft is complete!
