Let’s Make a Polar Bear Card with a Pop Up Heart
Personalize the Polar Bear Card Template
Using a fine tipped marker pen, add a few details to the polar bear. This may include dots around the nose, short lines for fur, eyebrows etc
Arty Crafty Kids could also design wooly jumper or scarf for their polar bear.
Cut Out the Polar Bear Elements
Once the Arty Crafty Kids have added their finishing touches to the polar bear, the next step is to carefully cut out all the elements.
Fold the Blue Card Stock and Polar Bear in Half
Next, fold the backing card stock in half and then the body of the polar bear.
Glue the Polar Bear to the Center Fold
Carefully affix the polar bear to the center fold of the backing card.
Trace the Pop Up Heart
Trace the heart onto colored card stock and carefully cut it out.
Affix the Paws to the Pop Up Heart
Fold the heart in half and glue a paw to each side of the heart – the fold should be sticking up.
Fold the Polar Bears Arms
Next, gently fold the arms to the inside of the heart and apply lots of glue to each arm.
Affix the Pop Up Heart to the Polar Bear’s Tummy Area
Affix the heart to the polar bear’s tummy area and press down firmly on the arms, while retaining the pop up effect.
Gently Fold the Card to Enhance the Heart Feature
Once the arms are secure, slowly fold the card in half.
The Polar Bear Card is Complete!
Using a white acrylic pen or maker pen, draw a few snowflakes or patterns onto the backing card.
The polar bear card is now complete and can be opened and closed until your hearts content.
