Sharing is caring!
This printable moon and bat craft is super fun and easy for kids to make, and looks amazing hung up on display within the home or classroom.
With Halloween fast approaching, the mobile is the perfect craft for parents and educators looking for a craft that’s more friendly than spooky.
The featured printable bats are simply drawn in an appealing cartoon style, with bold and clear lines to aide scissors skills and encourage independent cutting.
Children may color and hang as many bats as they like; creating a cloud of bats that surround the moon. Perhaps your Arty Crafty Kids could have a go at drawing their very own bats!

Let’s Make the Moon and Bat Mobile!
Color in the Bats
Using a medium of your Arty Crafty Kids choice, color in the bats.
We’ve colored ours with different hues of pink, blue and green.
Cut out the Bats
Carefully cut out the bats on the template.
Draw a Crescent Moon and Cut it out
Using a pencil, lightly draw a crescent moon shape on to the paper plate.
Carefully cut it out.
Paint and Decorate the Moon
Next, decorate the crescent moon.
Start by painting the moon yellow or orange.
Once the paint has dried, add wavy detailing with a white marker pen or glitter glue.
Create Hanging Strings for the Bats
Cut out 6 pieces of yarn or string ( or as many as required depending on the number of the bats to be hung).
Cut the hanging strings to different lengths. For the best results, there will be a mix of short and long pieces.
Use Sticky Tape to attach the yarn to the Bats
Use small pieces of sticky tape to attach the pieces of yarn to the back of the bats.
Stick the tape lengthways in the middle of the bats body, up to it’s head.
Attach the Bats to the Moon
Use small pieces of sticky tape to attach the bats to the back of the moon. Place the bats randomly, but spaced apart to ensure the bats do not collide or overlap when hung.
The Moon and Bats Mobile Craft is now complete!
Turn the moon and bat mobile around and hang.
