Let’s Make a Rocketship!
Paint the Rocketship Template
Let’s start the rocketship craft by painting the elements of the space craft.
Children may use their favorite medium for this step of the process. Our example uses paint.
Cut out the Rocketship Elements
Once the rocketship elements are dry, carefully cut them out.
Try arranging the different parts of the rocketship before assembling the craft.
Assemble the Rocketship
Once your Arty Crafty Kids are happy with the placement of the rocketship parts, secure each with glue.
Create a Space Background
Once the rocketship is assembled, glue the stars and moon to a piece of black cardstock.
Decorate with extra swirls, eco glitter or splatter paint.
Add two Threading Holes
Once the space scene is complete, use a hole punch to create two threading holes at either end of of the card stock.
Secure the Rocketship to String
Measure out piece of string that’s twice as long as the cardstock.
Secure the string with sticky tape to the back of the rocketship. Try to use the middle area of the string.
Thread the String
Turn the rocketship over and thread the string through the holes – one strand either end of the cardstock.
Secure with a Knot
Turn the cardtock over and secure the string with a knot.
The Rocketship Craft is Complete!
The flying rocketship craft is ready to blast off into space! To make the rocketship fly, pull the string from behind up and down.
