I cannot believe how easy these Homemade Clay and Melted Crayon Snowflake Ornaments are to make!
When I stumbled across Happy Hooligans stunning White Clay Dough Ornaments, I had to try it out with Little Angel and I’m so pleased I did.
I love the brilliant white clay against the vibrant colours of the melted crayon, they’re just gorgeous and capture the glisten of snowflakes beautifully.
With the festive season almost upon us; Homemade Clay and Melted Crayon Snowflake Ornaments are the perfect Christmas Tree Decoration and I cannot wait to see how they’ll look on our tree this year.
Clay and Melted Crayon Snowflakes: Materials
Made out of Cornflour (Cornstarch in the US) and Baking Soda, the clay couldn’t be easier to make. For more information about the ingredients and method, check out Happy Hooligans’ post.

Shape Cutter and a Straw (to create threading holes)
Baking Paper and Tray
Clay and Melted Crayon Snowflakes
Once the clay dough is prepared, grate a small amount of wax crayon onto a plate and lay the materials out ready for your crafty kids.
Roll the mixture out onto the chopping board, adding a little baking soda if the mixture becomes sticky.
Once rolled, sprinkle the flakes of wax crayon onto the clay and very gently press them into the clay using a rolling pin.
Next, begin cutting the shapes out of the clay and place them onto a tray with baking paper. Using a straw, create a single threading hole within each ornament.
Transfer the snowflakes into the oven on the lowest posssible heat to melt the crayons and dry the clay until firm. This should take about an hour.
Allow the snowflakes to cool and apply a thin layer of PVA glue directly onto the snowflake . Then add some twinkle using silver glitter.
Tie a short piece of string through the hole and hang your gorgeous Homemade Clay and Melted Crayon Snowflake Ornaments.
