Craft meets play with this lovely Butterfly Finger Puppet Craft for kids. Designed to inspire and entertain, this craft is perfect for kids who love butterflies and hands-on fun.

Simply download and print the butterfly template; color in a variety of bright and beautiful colors (or replicate a favorite butterfly pattern such as majestic Monarch Butterfly), cut, assemble and fly high!

How to Make the Butterfly Finger Puppet Craft

Materials: 

• Card Stock for Printing 
• Coloring Medium 
• Glue Stick 
• Scissors

Let’s make a Butterfly Finger Puppet!

Step 1: Use a favorite medium to color in the butterfly template. 

The butterfly template is an open invitation for children to use their imaginations to creatively color in the pieces that make up the butterfly. 

Our featured butterfly have been colored with water color pens, which are a fantastic coloring medium for children – they’re quick and easy to use (with great pigmentation) which doesn’t cause little hands to ache. 

Similar effects can be created with crayons, marker pens, pastels and watercolor paint from a palette.

Step 2: Cut out the butterfly template elements.

Step 3: Fold the small flaps on each of the butterfly’s wings.

Step 4: Affix the first wing to the butterfly’s body.

Step 5: Affix the second butterfly wing next to the first; adding a small layer to the butterfly’s wings.

Step 6: Create symmetry and affix the second set of butterfly wings.

Step 7: Turn the butterfly over and fold the two flaps of the finger piece and gently bend.

Step 8: Affix the finger piece to the back of the butterfly ( White area). 

To help secure the finger piece to the butterfly, pop a finger or pencil inside and apply pressure to the two affixed flaps.

Step 9: Affix the antenna’s and the butterfly finger puppet is ready to soar!
