Learn how to make a 3D Paper Cow Craft with one simple paper folding technique!

Our adorable cow paper craft is a fantastic first step into exploring the art of 3D paper crafting and encourages children to think about the use of perspective in their creativity.

With the aide of our handy printable template, children can get arty with their design and coloration of their cow and background, and apply their crafty skills of cutting, folding and sticking to make their cow pop from the page!

This is a complete craft project that ticks all fine motor development boxes that are particularly useful for preschoolers and young children, and will guarantee an afternoon of creative fun!

How to Make a 3D Paper Cow Craft

Materials:

• White Card Stock for Printing
• x2 Black Card Stock Strips
• Paint or a Preferred Coloring Medium
• Black Marker Pen
• Glue Stick
• Scissors

Let’s Make a 3D Cow!

Color in the Cow Template

Use a favorite medium to color in the template.

Using the splats shapes on the cow’s body for your inspiration, draw a few markings on the cow’s head and color them in.

Cut out the Cow Elements

Once the cow elements are colored in and dry, cut out the head and facial features.

Using a piece of black card stock, create two strips from the vertical edge.

Assemble the Cow’s Head

Next, glue the ears, horns and eyes onto the upper area of the cow’s head.

Draw a Smile

Glue a pair of nostrils onto the mouth piece and use a black marker pen to draw a big smile.

Cut a Paper Strip in Half

Cut one of the paper strips in half.

Create Two Paper Loops

Apply a generous amount of glue to one end of the short strips and fold the ends round create a loop.

Firmly press down on the join to secure the loop.

Create a second paper loop.

Create the First 3D Lift

Glue the paper loops onto the bottom half of the cow’s head.

The aligned pair of loops will create the first 3D lift.

Place the Mouth onto the Loops

Apply glue to the tops of both paper loops and place the mouth piece on top.

Gently press the mouth piece down to secure.

Create the 2nd 3D Lift

Create a second pair of loops and glue to the cow’s body.

Glue the Cow’s Head onto the Loops

Apply glue to the top of each loop and place the cows head on top.

Gently Press Down on the Cow

Gently press down on all the pieces to secure.

The 3D Craft is Complete

The 3D Paper Cow craft is now complete! Your Arty Crafty Kids will have successfully used the mechanism of paper loops to create a simple 3D effect.
