Let’s Color and Make Butterflies!
Printable Butterfly Coloring Page featuring a single large butterfly
Step 1: Print the Coloring Page onto paper or card stock
Before printing, check your printer settings to ensure the paper type is selected. This is really important if you’e printing onto weighted paper!
Select ‘fit to page’ at the point of printing.
Step 2: Color in the butterfly
Select a favorite medium to color in the pages.
With its smooth black outlines, large areas of white space and simple detailing; this butterfly coloring page is particularly good for young children and will challenge without overwhelming.
Step 3: Fold the butterflies wings
Once the background and butterfly are colored in, cut out the large butterfly.
Next, in turn, fold each wing across the butterfly’s body.
Step 4: Apply glue to the butterfly’s body
Turn the butterfly over and apply a generous spread of glue along its body.
Step 5: Affix the butterflies to the colored in background
Affix the butterfly to the base coloring page, somewhere between the flowers.
Press down on the butterfly’s body to ensure it’s firmly stuck!
Step 6: Enhance the 3D butterfly effect
Draw the butterfly’s wings together in the palms of your hands and press.
Open your hands and the wings will rest above the background to create the 3D effect.
The 3D butterfly coloring page is complete! This is such a lovely coloring page that will awaken the artist in children both big and small, and with its 3D effect, it will look amazing on display for for all to enjoy.

Use a favorite medium to color in the background and 3D elements.
This coloring page is slightly more detailed than the first and with its cartoon style, will appeal to children of all ages.
The bluebells in particular offer a lovely opportunity for children to try blending shades of lilac, pink and purple to add tone to their finish.
The excess of foliage and leaves may also be colored lots of different shades of green to create the impression of depth.
Step 3: Cut out all the colored in elements and fold the flaps
Step 4: Affix the butterflies wing onto the blank wing shaped space on the background coloring page
Step 5: Affix the 3D petals onto the flower
The petals can be affixed on top of the petals featured on the coloring page or in between the petals.
To enhance the 3D effect, color the two layers of petals two different shades.
