Let’s Make a 3D Pop Up Santa Claws Christmas Card!
Color In the Template and Cut the Elements Out
Color in all the elements of the template and then carefully cut each piece out.
Cut around the inside of the Card template and Fold
Cut around the edges of the card insert template, and then fold the template in half along the faded grey line.
Cut Along the Black Lines
Fold the card insert in half and carefully cut along both of the solid black lines. This will create the pop up element.
Fold the Colored Card Stock
Choose your colored card stock to create the outer part of the card. Fold the card stock in half.
Glue around the Outside of the Card Insert and Stick to the Card Stock
Apply glue to the back of the card insert – make sure that glue is only applied around the edge and not the centre of the card insert.
Next, stick the insert to the inside of the colored card stock. Align the faded central grey line to card stock fold – this is important as it helps to create the pop up element.
Fold the Card to create the Pop Up Effect
Once stuck, slowly fold the card inwards while pulling the center piece out to create a crease along the faded gray line. Open the card to reveal the step effect.
Glue Santa Claws In to the Card
Apply glue to the back of Santa Claws, and then glue Santa Claws to the top half of the card. Line the bottom of Santa Claws up with the very top fold of the pop up step.
Glue the Present In to the Card
Apply glue on to the present, or the front part of the pop up step. Then stick the present on to the front of the pop up step.
Add Torn Tissue Paper
Tear two strips of colored tissue paper. Scrunch them up in layers and apply some glue. Then stick a piece on each side of the present, on the inside.
