Sharing is caring!
Looking for a fun and easy Christmas craft to try with the kids? This Popsicle Stick Santa craft is super cute, super easy to make and will look adorable hanging off a branch of the Christmas tree!
The beauty of popsicle stick and wooden spoon crafts is that they’re multi-purpose and once children have completed their popsicle/wooden spoon stick Santa, he could be used as an ornament, puppet, bookmark or as a Christmas gift tag.
The Santa template makes it easy for children to recreate the shapes to complete this craft and with a switch of color, the elements can also be used to create Santa’s elves.

Let’s Make a Santa!
Paint the Popsicle Stick / Wooden Spoon
Paint the popsicle stick or wooden spoon a lovely bright red.
If you are using a wooden spoon, paint the back of the wooden spoon a skin colored tone.
Cut out the Santa Template Elements and Trace
Cut out all the elements from the template and trace the hat and nose onto red card stock or felt.
Alternatively, the elements can be colored in with a favorite coloring medium.
Assemble Santa’s Hat and Beard, Nose and Moustache
Next, assemble the Santa elements in two parts.
Affix the nose and moustache onto Santa’s beard.
Affix the white hat rim and a small white pom-pom onto the red hat.
Secure the Santa’s Face and Beard Elements
Popsicle Stick: Affix the beard onto the round face element included on the template (colored in a skin tone).
Wooden Spoon: Affix the beard onto the bottom rounded area of the wooden spoon.
Next, Affix the Santa’s Hat
Popsicle Stick: Glue the hat to the top of the face element and leave a small gap for Santa’s eyes.
Wooden Spoon: Glue the hat to the top of the wooden spoon and leave a small gap for Santa’s hat. Due to the rounded nature of the spoon, extra glue might be needed!
