Learn how to recreate this wonderfully fun and easy Paper Collage Pumpkin Art with the kids this Halloween.
Our pumpkin template features a simple, fun and friendly jack-o-lantern design that’s perfect for kids of all ages, particularly preschoolers, to complete and make it their own.
Preschoolers will love the process of tearing and glueing, to eventually to see their pumpkin art spring to life.
While the pumpkin template is a fabulous guide for children to follow, the project is open to all sorts of creative expansion.
Children may opt for different color schemes, patterns and create interesting backgrounds.
The pumpkin art is also open to different mediums (see the tissue paper pumpkin), collage techniques and learning outcomes i.e. how many orange items can children use to fill the pumpkin?

Let’s Make a Paper Collage Pumpkin!
Gather the Materials and Print the Pumpkin Template
Print the pumpkin template onto white card stock. Next, gather some colored paper and glue!
Tear the Colored Paper
Tear the colored paper into smaller pieces. Vary the shapes for a more interesting finished look.
Glue to the Pumpkin Template
Use the glue stick to glue pieces of colored paper on to the template. Only glue small areas at a time so the glue doesn’t dry out too quickly.
Complete Each Area of the Pumpkin
We’ve decided to go for a classic bright orange pumpkin, using three different types of orange card, a green and brown stalk, with some shiny card, and dark black and grey eyes.
Why not experiment and come up with a super colorful pumpkin! Your pumpkin could be rainbow colored, bright blue, green or pink!
Create a Background
Once the pumpkin is complete and full with brightly colored torn paper, add a background to make the pumpkin really pop!
The background is open to all sorts of designs. Here, we’ve simple created a night-time effect with black, blue watercolors and white stars (drawn with a white marker pen).
The zig-zags and swirls were drawn with a glitter glue pen.
The Paper Collage Pumpkin Art is Complete!
I hope your Arty Crafty Kids thoroughly enjoy creating their very own Pumpkin Art for Halloween and if you’re active on social media, please do share their creations and gives us a tag – we would love to see their Pumpkins!
