Sharing is caring!
Are you looking for a craft to fit an animal/jungle themed topic or a fun letter “M” activity for your Arty Crafty Kids? Our paper roll monkey craft ticks all of those boxes and is super easy to make!
Our monkey is made from a paper roll (with a few basic extra supplies) and while simple in design, it’s challenging enough to give your children’s fine motor skills a thorough work out.
Preschoolers and young children will love the process of tracing, cutting and sticking to create their monkey, but of course the fun doesn’t end there for they will also have a new paper toy to play with.
This blend of craft and play is where the magic happens, and if you have a few extra paper rolls in the recycling bin, perhaps their monkey may enjoy an animal friend – we have lots of animal crafts to choose from!

Cut out and Trace the Monkey Template Elements
Carefully cut out the monkey elements from the template and trace the head, arms, feet and tail onto brown paper.
Trace the face area onto a lighter shade of brown or beige paper.
Cut out all the traced elements.
Assemble the Monkey’s Head
Affix the beige facial element onto the head and add two pink inner ear shapes.
Draw the Monkey’s Facial Features
Use a black marker pen to draw a pair of eyes, a nose and a big smiley mouth.
Wrap the Paper Roll in Brown Paper

Align the paper roll against a sheet of brown paper to measure its width and proceed to cut a long strip of paper – the strip should be long enough to wrap around the paper roll.
Secure the paper ends with glue.
Affix the Monkey’s Head to the Paper Roll
Affix the monkey’s head to the paper roll body and glue the oval tummy shape just below the head.
Affix the Monkey’s Arms to the Paper Roll
Affix an arm to both sides of the paper roll.
Affix the Monkey’s Feet to the Paper Roll
