The Preschool Tiger Craft – A Step-by-Step
Step 1: Paint the paper plate.
Paint the paper plate a bright orange color and leave it to dry.
Step 2: Draw a collection of tiger stripes.
Use a black marker pen to draw the tiger stripes.
Draw the stripes in groups of 3’s with the middle stripe slightly longer than the other 2.
Imagine the paper plate is a clock…
Draw the tiger stripes at 12, 3 and 9 o’clock positions – this is a lovely visualization for your preschoolers!
Step 3: Create the tiger’s ears.
Trace the ear elements from the tiger template onto orange and pink paper.
Next, glue the pink ‘inner ear’ pieces to the large orange ears.
Step 4: Add detailing to the tiger’s muzzle.
Trace the muzzle onto beige or white paper and the nose onto black paper.
Glue the nose onto the muzzle and draw a sweet smiley expression.
Step 5: Assemble the paper plate tiger.
Glue the muzzle onto the paper plate.
Followed by the ears.
Draw a pair of black eyes above the muzzle and use a chalk marker to add little white dots.
For an added ‘cute’ factor, glue a pair of pink paper circles to the tops of the tiger’s mouth.
The paper plate tiger craft is all done! I hope your little Arty Crafty Kids had a blast making their tiger pals.
This tiger project is just perfect for preschoolers. It’s super easy to trace, cut, and stick the shapes together.
Variations of the Tiger Paper Plate Craft
Are you ready your Arty Crafty Kids ready to take their creativity up a level?
Here’s a further 3 variations of the paper plate tiger craft, all with simple yet distinct differences to help inspire kids to make their tigers their own.
In our first variation, we maintain the simplicity of the preschool tiger but have added more carefully shaped stripes.
For those who prefer a brush to a pair of scissors, our second variation offers a unique approach.
Say goodbye to excessive cutting and sticking as we blend the muzzle seamlessly with the bottom of the paper plate.
With a focus on painting rather than assembly, this design allows for greater artistic expression and creativity, giving you the freedom to bring your tiger to life with bold strokes and vibrant colors.
Last but certainly not least, our third variation crafts the whole tiger; using an additional paper plate to create the body of this cute tiger.
